Sahih Bukhari 2005

The The Book Of As-Saum (The Fasting) in Sahih Bukhari 2005 shows the teachings and good conduct of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ تَعُدُّهُ الْيَهُودُ عِيدًا ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَصُومُوهُ أَنْتُمْ .

Narrated Abu Musa: The day of 'Ashura' was considered as `Id day by the Jews. So the Prophet ordered, I recommend you (Muslims) to fast on this day.
