The The Book On Hunting in Jami at Tirmidhi 1488 shows the teachings and good conduct of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was compiled by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad at-Tirmizi and has twenty-nine hadiths that explain the guidance and messages given to the Prophet SAW. حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ، إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ، أَوْ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: أَوْ كَلْبَ زَرْعٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ لَهُ زَرْعٌ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered killing dogs, except for the hunting dog, or the dog that guards livestock. It was said to him: Abu Hurairah would say: 'or a farm dog' so he (Ibn 'Umar) said: Abu Hurairah had a farm.
