حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَبَحُّ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَثَلُ أُمَّتِي مَثَلُ الْمَطَرِ لَا يُدْرَى أَوَّلُهُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ آخِرُهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَرُوِي عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُثَبِّتُ حَمَّادَ بْنَ يَحْيَى الْأَبَحَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ يَقُولُ هُوَ مِنْ شُيُوخِنَا.

Narrated Anas: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The parable of my Ummah is that of a rain; it is not known if its beginning is better or its end.
