حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَةٌ كُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ:‏‏‏‏ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَبُو زَيْدٍ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَحَدُ عُمُومَتِي. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Narrated Qatadah: that Anas bin Malik said: Four gathered the Qur'an during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), all of them are from the Ansar: Ubayy bin Ka'b, Mu'adh bin Jabal, Zaid bin Thabit, and Abu Zaid. I said to Anas: Who is Abu Zaid? He said: One of my uncles.
