The The Book On Fasting in Jami at Tirmidhi 772 shows the teachings and good conduct of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was compiled by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad at-Tirmizi and has one hundred and twenty-seven hadiths that explain the guidance and messages given to the Prophet SAW. The original hadiths are in Arabic, and English translations are available to make them easier to understand.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صِيَامَيْنِ يَوْمِ الْأَضْحَى وَيَوْمِ الْفِطْرِ . قَالَ: وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عُمَرَ، وَعَلِيٍّ، وَعَائِشَةَ، وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَعُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، وَأَنَسٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: حَدِيثُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، قَالَ: وَعَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْمَازِنِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ، رَوَى لَهُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، وَشُعْبَةُ، وَمَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ.
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated: The Messenger of Allah prohibited two fasts: Fasting the Day of Adha and the Day of Fitr.
