حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ - وَأَلْفَاظُهُمْ مُتَقَارِبَةٌ - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا، وَقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ الْأَحْوَلُ أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ لَمَّا كَانَ بَيْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَبَيْنَ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ مَا كَانَ تَيَسَّرُوا لِلْقِتَالِ، فَرَكِبَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو فَوَعَظَهُ خَالِدٌ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو: أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ

It is narrated on the authority of Thabit, that when 'Abdullah b. 'Amr and 'Anbasa b. Abi Sufyan were about to fight against each other, Khalid b. 'As rode to 'Abdullah b. 'Amr and persuaded him (not to do so). Upon this Abdullah b. 'Amr said: Are you not aware that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) had observed: He who died in protecting his property is a martyr.
