حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَهْطًا وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ فِيهِمْ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، وَزَادَ، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَارَرْتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا لَكَ عَنْ فُلَانٍ؟

Sa'd reported: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) bestowed upon a group of persons (booty) and I was sitting with them. The remaining part of the hadith is the same as mentioned (above) with the additionI stood up and went to the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and whispered to him: Why did you omit such and such a man?
