حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبًا الْعَلَقِيَّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ يُسَمِّعْ يُسَمِّعْ اللَّهُ بِهِ وَمَنْ يُرَائِي يُرَائِي اللَّهُ بِهِ
Jundub reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: He who wants to publicise (his deeds), Allah will publicise (his humility), and he who makes a hypocritical display (of his deeds), Allah will make a display of him.
Sufyan reported this hadith with the same chain of transmitters and he made this addition: I did not hear anyone saying besides him that it was Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) who had said so. ..
