The Chapters Regarding Funerals in Sunan Ibn Majah 1501 shows the teachings and good conduct of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It was compiled by Imam Ibn Majah and has two hundred and five hadiths that explain the guidance and messages given to the Prophet SAW. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: مَا أَبَاحَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَلَا عُمَرُ فِي شَيْءٍ مَا أَبَاحُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ، يَعْنِي: لَمْ يُوَقِّتْ.
It was narrated that Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr and ‘Umar did not give us so much leeway in anything as they did with regard to the prayer for the deceased,” meaning that there was nothing affixed.
