Topic Expiation

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ النَّذْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ اللَّئِيمِ .

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade vows and said: 'They are just a means of taking wealth from the miserly. '

Sunan Ibn Majah 2123
