حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى اللَّيْثِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ خَطِيبًا،‏‏‏‏ فَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ،‏‏‏‏ أَلَا فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا،‏‏‏‏ وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ .

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up to deliver a sermon and one of the things that he said was: “This world is fresh and sweet, and Allah will make your successive generations therein, so look at what you do and beware of (the temptations of) this world and beware of (the temptations of) women.”
