حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيل الْأَسْلَمِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَمُرَّ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ،‏‏‏‏ فَيَتَمَرَّغَ عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَيَقُولَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ مَكَانَ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الْقَبْرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَيْسَ بِهِ الدِّينُ إِلَّا الْبَلَاءُ .

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, this world will not pass away until a man will pass by a grave, and will roll on it and say: ‘Would that I were in the place of the occupant of this grave!’ And the reason for that will not be any religious motive, rather it will be because of calamity.”
