حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخُو حَزْمٍ الْقُطَعِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَرَأَ أَوْ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ سورة المدثر آية 56،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أُتَّقَى،‏‏‏‏ فَلَا يُجْعَلْ مَعِي إِلَهٌ آخَرُ،‏‏‏‏ فَمَنِ اتَّقَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا آخَرَ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْقَطَّانُ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَاهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَزْمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ سورة المدثر آية 56،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أُتَّقَى فَلَا يُشْرَكَ بِي غَيْرِي،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَا أَهْلٌ لِمَنِ اتَّقَى أَنْ يُشْرِكَ بِي أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ .

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this Verse: “He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (god) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins).” [74:56] Then he said: “Allah says: ‘I am the One Who deserves to be feared, so no other god should be appointed alongside Me. Whoever avoids appointing another god alongside Me, I am the One Who should forgive him.”
