Surah Duha Background
Surah Duha was revealed during the early Makkan period. There had been a pause in revelation, and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was mocked because of it. Jundub ibn Sufyan (RA) reported that the Prophet ﷺ was unwell and did not get up for the night prayer for two or three nights. A woman then mocked him by saying that his "Satan" had left him. Allah then revealed the opening verses of Surah Duha, telling the Prophet ﷺ that his Lord had neither abandoned him nor become displeased with him.
