Surah Al-Mudassir (Arabic: سورةالمدثر) is the seventy-fourth chapter (surah) of the Quran. It consists of 56 verses and is believed to have been revealed in the early years of Prophet Muhammad's mission in Makkah.
The surah's name "Al-Mudassir" means "The Enshrouded One," which refers to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) being instructed by Allah to wrap himself in a garment as a form of physical and spiritual preparation for the challenges that lay ahead of him.
