How The Eid Prayer Performed
- Early Prayer: Muslims pray 2 rakahs of Eid prayer after sunrise and before Dhuhr time. It is recommended to pray early.
- Extra Takbeers: Eid prayer has extra takbeers (Allahu Akbar), which makes it different from regular prayer.
- No Adhan or Iqamah: There is no adhan (call to prayer) and no iqamah (signal to the start of the prayer) for the Eid prayer. (Sahih Muslim, 886)
- The Khutbah (Sermon): After the prayer, the imam delivers two khutbahs.
