حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ائْذَنُوا لِلنِّسَاءِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِاللَّيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ ابْنٌ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ لَا نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ فَيَتَّخِذْنَهُ دَغَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّهِ لَا نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَسَبَّهُ وَغَضِبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ائْذَنُوا لَهُنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا نَأْذَنُ لَهُنَّ .

Abdullah bin Umar reported the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying; Allow women to visit the mosque at night. A son of his (Bilal) said; I swear by Allah, we shall certainly not allow them because they will defraud. I swear by Allah, we shall not allow them. He (Ibn Umar) abused him and became angry at him and said: I tell you that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allow them; yet you say; we shall not allow them.
