Sunan Abu Dawood 695

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنُ السَّرْحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى سُتْرَةٍ فَلْيَدْنُ مِنْهَا لَا يَقْطَعِ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَيْهِ صَلَاتَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ رَوَاهُ وَاقِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَفْوَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاخْتُلِفَ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ.

Narrated Sahl ibn AbuHathmah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When one of you prays facing a sutrah he should keep close to it, and not let the devil interrupt his prayer. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Waqid bin Muhammad from Safwan from Muhammad bin Sahl on the authority of his father, or on the authority of Muhammad bin Sahl from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Some have narrated it from Nafi bin Jubair on the authority of Sahl bin Saad. There is a variation in the chain of its narrators.
